Working with Chong Co Group was a valuable opportunity that allowed me to develop a wide range of skills across both marketing and operations. In addition to supporting digital marketing, website management, POS system setup, and social media for more than 25 affiliated branches across Australia, I also had the opportunity to be part of the management team at the Greenway branch.

In this role, I was responsible for staff training, creating operational manuals, and supporting team development across all front-of-house functions. I also managed supplier relationships and handled day-to-day operational challenges to ensure smooth and efficient dining service.

I am truly grateful to the senior management for giving me the opportunity to learn, grow, and gain hands-on experience in running a hospitality business—skills that are difficult to acquire elsewhere.

During working for Chong Co Thai at Greenway 

I had the opportunity to open and run a new café, where I was responsible for managing all aspects of the business. I developed the food menu, designed dishes, prepared coffee and beverages, and independently managed the team and daily operations.

After six months of operation, the business was unfortunately impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, and we had to temporarily close.

My sister and I started this business together, with me as the primary investor and mentor. I trained her in baking and supported the overall business operations to ensure we could produce high-quality cakes and build a strong foundation.

The early stages were very challenging. I relied on credit cards to gradually invest in commercial equipment, and we worked hard to introduce our brand to the local community. For three years, we sold cake slices at night markets to build awareness and earn customers’ trust.

Through persistence and dedication, we successfully established our reputation. Today, Nadear Bakery is recognised as one of the best cake shops in Namon, Kalasin Province. When people in the area think of birthday cakes, Nadear Bakery is the name that comes to mind.

I had a great experience working as part of a supportive and dedicated team. Together, we prepared meals for over 400 boarding students with a team of only five staff members. It was a demanding role, but it truly highlighted the importance of teamwork.

We consistently supported one another, stayed well-organised, and worked efficiently to ensure that all tasks were completed on time and to a high standard. This experience strengthened my ability to work under pressure while maintaining quality and consistency.

Chatthai was the first place where I began my journey in hospitality. Even though I had no prior experience, the team was happy to train me and support me in developing strong cooking skills.

One of my most memorable experiences was cooking at the front window of the restaurant at Chatthai in Thai Town. With both front and back kitchens, I had the opportunity to cook in front of customers, which helped build my confidence and gave me invaluable hands-on experience.

Working at Chatthai truly felt like being part of a family. We called it a family because the owner, “Na Tui,” cared for everyone with warmth and kindness—treating us not just as employees, but as people she genuinely valued.

I worked there for five years, and even after I left, Chatthai has always remained close to my heart. Whenever I return to Sydney, it is always the first place I visit and support. Even when Na Tui travels back to Thailand, the team makes an effort to reconnect and spend time together. Those moments are always filled with happiness and appreciation.

Our company was known for having a very detail-oriented and strict boss, but that pushed us to become an incredibly strong and capable marketing team. Together, we made things happen—from organizing private concerts for high-end clients to managing large and complex databases.

I was fortunate to work under such supportive leaders, especially Khun Cherrie and Khun Ple, along with an amazing team. I learned so many valuable skills and developed a better mindset thanks to the wonderful people around me.

I will always miss everyone from this company. They were the first group who gave me the opportunity to take on important responsibilities and trusted me to bring my ideas to life through many projects.
